A touch of poetry in her gaze

Hayadée is part of the Wild Flowers series by artist Stéphane Pannetier Le Hénaff, created in 2024. Made with graphite, chalk and watercolor, ink on ochre paper, this work tells a story, here it is:

Front and center is the portrait of the mysterious lady, with a hidden monster concealed in her hair, creating a delightful contrast with the angelic atmosphere of the scene.

In the background, various flowers: irises (Iris Germanica "Rota", Iris Germanique "Beauté", Iris Germanica "Mme Neubrunner") are revealed amidst the wild flowers surrounding the woman 'Hayadée'.

Finally, in the third layer, here is Mont St Michel in Normandy, adding a psychological touch to the portrait. The swirls emphasize the woman's gaze towards the Earth and the Sun, in striking contrast to the menacing presence of the monster slithering in her hair, whispering sinister words into her ear. Here at last is the nuance between appearance and being, Saint Michael fighting on his mountain, or a gaze towards the horizon, the viewer's eye rests on this portrait and its shadows. Here at last is the nuance between appearance and being, Saint Michael fighting on his mountain, or a gaze towards the horizon.
